Sharp, the display technology giant, who is the first OME to showcase the 3 sided bezel-less smartphone is now back with a band. However, unlike their current portfolio, the smartphone is made available in Japan, so, if any of our readers are heading towards Tokyo, then please get me one of those.

The Sharp Aquos R packs some serious horsepower under the hood with very pleasing and compact form factor. In terms of build quality, the device offers top of the line all-metal unibody design with some pleasant changes, that make this device to shine in the crowd.

The Sharp Aquos R features a 3 sided bezel-less design with a 4.5-inch IPS LCD screen with FHD+ resolution, which offers plenty of pixels per inch, protected by a 2.5 D Curved tempered glass on the top. The brain of this device is the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Octa-core SoC, paired with 3 GB LPDDR4 RAM and 32 GB onboard flash storage with a dedicated micro SD card (up to 128 GB).

With respect to the optics, the device is incarnated with a 16.4 MP rear-facing camera with 4K video recording capability along with 1080 slow motion video recording. For the selfie camera, the device offers an 8 MP selfie shooter, which pops out on the top notch of the display with 1080p video recording capability.

In terms of operating system, the device offers Android Oreo 8.0 out of the box with custom UI  on the top. If you are concerned about the connectivity, then this smartphone offers single SIM card slot with 4G LTE and VoLte capability, Bluetooth version 5.0, WiFi, and WiFi hotspot for both 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz. It does feature a fingerprint sensor, which is located on the home button, which is missing on the Apple iPhone X.

Though the device doesn’t offer anything fancy like Face ID or Animoji, for the price tag of $372 (INR 24,000) it has all the magic that one can ask for. Finally, one can buy 3 Sharp Aquos R, instead of 1 entry-level Apple iPhone X with 64 GB storage.
