A new Sony Xperia branded smartphone, named Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra was spotted online with all new dual selfie camera setup on the front. The smartphone is expected to go official next week on the CES 2018. Here are the complete details on the upcoming premium mid-tier flagship smartphone.

The Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra was spotted on SIRIM certification website with the H4233 series number. There aren’t any details on the design and built quality, but the smartphone is likely to feature full metal unibody solution with all new design language compared to the previous generation of Sony Xperia smartphones. This is the first Sony Xperia smartphone to feature a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, which is in parallel with the main camera setup. Like most of the Sony smartphones, this smartphone is also likely to feature IP rating for water and dust resistance.

The most used benchmarking platform for the smartphone, AKA, the GFXBench sheds light on the actual tech specifications of the device and here are the complete details on the same.

To begin with the processor, the smartphone is based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 Octa-core processor with 2.2 GHz clock speed. This processor is based on 14 nm FinFET technology, which delivers performance as well as efficiency. This processor will be coupled with either 3 GB or 4 GB LPDDR4x RAM with 32 GB or 64 GB onboard flash storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot (up to 256 GB).

Coming to the display, the smartphone features is likely to feature an all-new 5.5-inch display with 1080p resolution. However, there inst any clarity regarding the aspect ratio screen (18:9 or 16:9 aspect ratio). Considering this a class 2018 smartphone, the company is most likely to use all new 18:9 aspect ratio with the bezel-less design.

As we already mentioned about the dual cameras on the front for the enhanced selfie-taking capabilities. For the main camera, the smartphone is likely to use a single 24 MP main camera with OIS and 4K video recording capability up to 30 frames per second. This might be the first Sony Xperia smartphone to feature portrait mode on the front camera as well as the rear-camera setup.

The smartphone will run on Android Oreo 8.0 based operating system with custom UI on the top. So, the users will be able to enjoy premium software experiences without any problem what so ever. The smartphone is likely to feature a 3300 mAh sealed battery with fast charging capability using USB type C port.
