Tinder

Tinder is a location-based social search mobile app that allows users to like or dislike other users. The app also allows users to chat if both parties liked each other (known as a match). The app is mostly used as a hookup app. However, sometimes it also helps a person to find a perfect match for him/her. Searching on the internet using the hashtag #tindersuccessstory will reveal many weddings and engagements story that came from using the app. The information available to the users are on the basis of user’s pictures from Facebook. Others can also see a short bio that users write themselves. The app also allows users to link their Tinder account with Instagram and Spotify accounts.

New Terms and Conditions of Tinder:

Some reports suggest that some of the users have spotted some new Terms and Conditions for using the service. According to those reports, section 16 of the terms of use now states that neither the user or the dating app can go to court to assert or defend any claims between the user and Tinder. The new terms also state that user cannot participate in a class action lawsuit or other class proceedings. Even if the class action lawsuits are from past, present, or future users cannot participate in them. These new changes are in response to the numerous lawsuits that the company is currently facing.

Although the company has made a provision to opt out of the new additions. But Tinder is not making it easy for the users to do so. For doing so, users must have to send an email to [email protected] with user’s full name, actual address, email address, the phone number associated with their Tinder account. Along with all these users also have to give a statement that they are opting out of the Retroactive Application of this Arbitration Agreement.
