A few months back dual camera was something that was reserved to high-end flagship smartphones. As the technology evolves things get cheaper and more affordable. So, here are the best Android smartphones available in India with dual rear camera solution under INR 15,000.

Huawei Honor 6X:

Huawei Honor 6X is probably one of the best smartphones available in India priced at INR 11,990 and INR 13,990 (not the original launch prices) for 3 GB, 32 GB and 4 GB, 64 GB respectively. All metal unibody is one of its fair points as well.

Other features like 5.5-inch 1080p screen, finger print reader and Kirin 655 is also equal to industry standards ( an equivalent of Qualcomm Snapdragon 650). Just like its godfather Huawei Honor 8, the dual camera implementation is something similar.

The combination of dual rear camera setup consists of 12 MP RGB sensor + 2 MP monochrome sensor. By the combination of these sensors, one can get DSLR like bokeh effect and detailed monochrome images. With respect to video department, the device records 1080p with 30 fps videos.

Due to the highly efficient processor and ample amount of memory, the device slides down the road with the day to day performance. The device runs on latest version of Android Nougat with custom UI on the top. It has 4G LTE and VoLte support on both the slots. The device features hybrid solution, where a user can either use two SIM cards or a SIM + SD card. The device features non-user replaceable 3340 mAh Li-ion battery.

The inclusion of USB type C port could have made this device a complete all-rounder, as it still features micro USB (good for few more years) with fast charging capabilities. However, according to Youtuber JerryRigsEverything, the device does not hold up well with the bend test (device snaps into half).

Lenovo K8 Note:

The Lenovo K8 Note is going for sale on 18th of August. Lenovo K8 Note hasn’t missed out on anything (just USB type C). This is the first device to be powered by the Helio X23 SoC paired with either 3 GB or 4 GB RAM with 32 GB or 64 GB onboard storage. The Lenovo K8 Note is priced at INR 12,990 and 13,990 respectively. This is probably the only device that offers dedicated micro SD card slot + dual nano SIM card slot.

Considering the built quality, the device resembles the Redmi Note 4 as both device share similar kind of body, materials and even ports. Lenovo K8 Note is the first smartphone in recent times that has incorporated a dedicated music button (if you not a music freak then, one can programme it to anything from launching any 3rd party app to opening a camera with just click of a button. Lenovo K8 Note also has similar 1080p IPS LCD screen. Lenovo K8 Note features 4000 mAh Li-ion battery with fast charging capabilities.

The camera combination of 12 MP + 5 MP rear facing camera (RGB + RGB) can produce some of the best photographs in the budget segment smartphone. The Bokeh effect can be tweaked at the software level by controlling the level of depth of field depending on the object or focus required. The bokeh effect isn’t that efficient as of now, which can be resolved over the time via OTA update. The device can only record videos with a max resolution of 1080p at 30 fps.

Lenovo has also ditched its Vibe UI in favour of stock Android. This will not only ensure that the device will be faster, but it also makes sure that the updates will be pushed as soon as they are released.

CoolPad Cool 1:

The last but not least smartphone with dual camera setup under INR 15,000 is the CoolPad Cool 1. The device comes with 3 GB or 4 GB RAM with 32 GB onboard storage. The 3 GB version retails for INR 10,990 and the 4 GB model is priced at INR 12,990 (not the original launch prices). As this device was manufactured in partnered with LeEco and CoolPad.

This is the first device in this portfolio to offer USB type C port and powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor. However, the device still runs on Marshmallow and considering the companies financial fate, it’s most likely not to receive any update in the near future.

On a more important note, the dual camera setup in CoolPad Cool 1 works bit differently. The main 13 MP dual camera setup (RGB + monochrome) can capture images with immense quality and depth of field just like DSLR photography. The main camera setup also supports 4K video recording capability. The device also supports fast charging via inbuilt charger that can supercharge up to 50% in less than 30 minutes.

If you are not concerned about after sale service or regular android updates, then CoolPad Cool 1 is the phone for you.
