Vivo V7 is finally here are we are not amused about the same. To start with the price tag, the device retails for ₹18,990, which is a great mood off. Come on Vivo, Look at the Xiaomi, Moto, Honor, and please price your devices accordingly, instead of spending all your earnings on the market and advertisement. In fact, the Oppo F5 has a lot more features compared to this Vivo V7, which feels like a half backed smartphone at this price point.

One can pre-order the smartphone on Flipkart from now onwards or can buy the same from 24th November onwards. The device is in line with the design but offers smaller display, smaller battery, and a smaller onboard storage chip, so, this is a trimmed down smartphone from Vivo V7+ from every corner. So, if you are a Vivo disciple, with a shortage of cash, then, this is the saviour. At the price tag of ₹18,990, this offers nothing special except for the brand name. Let’s look at the technical specifications for the further understanding.

The smartphone offers a 5.7-inch edge to edge narrow bezel HD+ IPS LCD screen, protected by 2.5D curved tempered glass on the top. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 Octa-core SoC, paired with 4 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 32 GB onboard flash storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot (up to 128 GB). In terms of connectivity, the device offers dual nano-SIM card slots with 4G LTE and VoLte capability out of the box. Other standard connectivity features like dual channel WiFi, WiFi Hotspot, and Bluetooth 4.2 are also supported out of the box.

Coming to the photo taking capabilities of this device, the phone has been incarnated with a 24 MP selfie shooter with F/2.0 aperture and 1080p video recording capability. On the back, the phone has the same 16 MP shooter with F/2.0 aperture and 1080p video recording capability. Though this smartphone is called selfie smartphone, the F/2.0 aperture cannot be trusted in the low lightening condition.

This smartphone runs on a forked version of Android Nougat 7.0 and we have no idea on the Android Oreo update what so ever. Finally, the device gets its juice from a sealed 3000 mAh Li-ion battery with fast charging capability via micro USB port, which also doubles as the USB type C port.

To conclude, this is one more smartphone that doesn’t go well due to poor retail pricing decisions.
