A few days ago, Google announced some new features for Assistant on Wear OS. Now according to a report, these features have started to roll out. It is not sure whether these are a server-side update or they are related to Google app update on user’s watch. The updates were firstly noticed by several users in the subreddit. This can confirm that Google is now rolling out the updated Assistant to watches.

The new updates mainly include smart suggestions following an Assistant interaction and audio replies. It does not look like that the rollout is limited to the United States. According to reports, several users from European countries are also receiving the new features.

The updates to Assistant for the Smartwatch brings three new features. These features include suggestions and follow-up queries, Actions on Google (Assistant apps) support and speaking the answers out loud. The first one update will make users see suggestion chips after they make a query. This will be similar to the suggestions that are displayed on user’s phone.

The second update will add the support for Assistant apps or Actions on Google. This will allow users to finally issue some commands to the services that users usually use. The last update will allow users to hear answers from Assistant aloud on their watch’s speaker. This will be available through the Bluetooth headsets connected to the watch.

The initial user feedback about the new updates for the smartwatch is mixed. Some users are saying that they experience these new functionalities offer is slow and laggy. Of course, this could be because to their wearable device, as not everyone is of the same opinion.
