Whatsapp UPI

WhatsApp’s consecutive impacts, initially with climbing to the no.1 spot including a group video call support later in the first week of February 2018. Now they are up to adding another new feature that enables digital payments.

The latest update of the Whatsapp Beta version has added the payments option in the attachments. The payments will be based on the UPI (Unified Payments Interface) technology. Initially, it was found that the list of banks and the linked bank account is okay! But when it comes to adding the account, it fails! Thus, the beta version is still in the stage of final integration and testing where few beta users have the access to the upcoming feature. This feature is said to be available on WhatsApp version 2.18.21 for iOS, and version 2.18.41 for Android.

A report by FoneArena adds,

“Both the sender and receiver need to have the WhatsApp Payments feature to successfully transact on the messaging app. Users have reportedly been facing issues linking their bank accounts to the app, although this is expected from a feature available in beta.”

It could be the easiest way to send and receive money without using any other external app for UPI payments. However, Tez from Google has already built his name in the digital payments through UPI. Well, Whatsapp has a huge advantage of daily 1.5 billion daily active users.
