Social media giant Facebook is trying to showcase ads on its most popular app WhatsApp. Many reporters say Facebook has not abandoned its plans to serve ads on its instant messaging service WhatsApp.

Facebook is also trying to link all its social media platforms and after this only the ads may appear on WhatsApp. Serving the ads on these platforms is a challenging job. As it provided end to end encryption only the sender and receiver can see the messages. With all these securities concerns it’s trying to bring ads on the platform.

According to recent reports Facebook plans to solve the problem by finding mobile numbers that are common in WhatsApp and Facebook accounts. However, this plan has not gone well. Also, some Facebook officials feel that this move may lead some users to delete their Facebook account.

Earlier, serving ads on messaging platforms like WhatsApp created controversies, and also many questions regarding the security of user’s data were raised. Facebook officially announced its idea of bringing ads to status (WhatsApp stories) in 2018.

In January, the Wall Street Journal report said that the social networking giant had put WhatsApp advertising “on ice”. Also, The Information revealed that Facebook is planning to monetize its messaging platform WhatsApp which has 2 billion users worldwide. Engadget reported that a Facebook spokesperson confirms that “ads in Status remains a long-term opportunity for WhatsApp”.
