Xbox One

As per the reports, nowadays, much of the hype is witnessed around the Xbox One X as it is rumored to come with 4K resolution gaming feature. It is assumed that to enjoy this feature you own a compatible display and trying to play a game that supports the 4K resolution. Though without a 4K display, users can play a game on a 1080p screen but the results will be better with the assumptions made. The reports added that the Microsoft will roll out support for 1440p soon to both the Xbox X and Xbox One S.

The rumors were cleared by Kevin Gammill, the program manager for Microsoft’s Xbox Platform group, when he tweeted as an answer to numerous questions asked surrounding 1440p support- stating that the users will be “pleasantly surprised very soon.”

The much talked Xbox Insider program is somewhat similar to the Windows Insider program, the only difference being it is for “Xbox”. The exclusive Insider program provides the gamers with an opportunity to test out and check the gameplay with unreleased features before they are launched for the general public.Though at times there are bugs and errors reported but for the ardent gamers getting an opportunity to test a game matters the most.

Assuming everything goes well, 1440p support is likely to be open to the subscribers of the Insiders’ program soon, followed by a launch for the general public.

The gain will be maximum with this update for the users who will play on a 1440p compatible display. However, the concept of supersampling will benefit all the users as 4k benefit gamers who runs on a 1080p monitor, the same way it is hoped to be true for 1440p supersampling. The whole concept of supersampling involves rendering a game at a higher resolution such as 4K or 1440p, followed by compressing it down to 1080p.
The tech giant Microsoft explains supersampling as the cousin of upscaling. Instead of taking an image of poor quality or lower resolution and blowing up or creating a distortion as in upscaling’s effect, in supersampling higher resolution or good quality images are taken which are scaled down as per the desired screen resolution- be it 720p or 1080p. The whole process of Supersampling reduces jaggies and provide an overall sharper image, offering an option for visual upgrades that extend beyond the resolution. With the GPU power feature of Xbox One S and the Xbox One X, supersampling offers greater special effects and allows for better draw distance as a whole setup.

So, let’s see what this has to do with revolutionizing the gaming world!
