Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone brand which has been quite popular in India since its launch in July 2014, has claimed to have sold over 30 lakh Redmi 3S devices in India since the launch in August 2016. With this, the smartphone brand also claims to have reached to the second slot in the list of most popular smartphone brand in India. The Redmi 3S series from Xiaomi includes Redmi 3S, Redmi 3S Prime and Redmi 3S Plus models. The first two are available online and were launched in August 2016. At the same time, the Redmi 3S Plus model is an offline only model launched by the company in October last year.

Recently released smartphone shipment data of fourth quarter of 2016 by IDC showed Xiaomi as the number 2 vendor in India and the company gives the credit to Redmi 3S Series. Also, Xiaomi claims that it has been the number one company in the online space in the given quarter.

In the quarterly release, IDC placed Xiaomi on the number two slot stating tha the company has 10.7% market share in Q4 2016, up from 3.3% in the same period last year. Year-on-Year growth has been 300% and sequential growth in the last quarter of 2016 was 15.3%. The company also strengthened its portfolio by launching an offline only model in October 2016.

Speaking on the development, Manu Kumar Jain, India MD of Xiaomi hailed the product of Xiaomi stating that great product has been the core of the company since its inception. Along with that, facts like great customer service, hiring of key talent and tweaking the online & offline sales strategy has done wonders in the short history of the company in India. He further added that customer experience has been one of the key objectives of the company and it has played a vital role in making Xiaomi one of the most trusted brands in India.
