Last week, Qualcomm has announced a new Windows 10 OS powered notebooks running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 mobile processors. So, the cheaper Mi Books will be available at a much lower price tag. Here are the complete collections of the Xiaomi Mi Notebook based on Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
In terms of design and aesthetics, this specific model is expected to offer similar full metal unibody design. So, you will have the same premium feel as that of the last two generations Mi Notebooks. However, there are also chances that, the company might also use the next generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Octa-core SoC, with up to 30 percent improved performance over the Snapdragon 835. This processor is likely to be paired with either 4 GB or 6 GB LPDDR4x RAM with flash storage ranging from 128 GB to 512 GB.
The display on this device is expected to measure around 13.3-inch, which has become a global standard for the notebooks. However, the resolution of the screen is expected to remain at 1080p considering the added advantage over the battery life. Like the previously announced ARM-based notebooks, this one is also expected to run on Windows 10S version of operating system, which does not support third-party app installations and the only way to install an app is to download it from Windows Store.
Coming to the ports, the notebook will include all sort of ports that one can ask from a premium notebook. So, one can easily expect to get dual full-sized USB ports, USB type C ports, full sized SDXC card slot and a mini HDMI port. The two major improvements over the Intel-powered processors will be the battery life. In fact, the recently launched ARM-based notebooks offer a full-day battery and the upcoming Xiaomi counterpart is also expected feature similar kind of battery life. The next surprising thing about the upcoming notebooks will be network connectivity, thanks to the Gigabit LTE model on the Snapdragon 800 series chipset, the notebook will offer a SIM card slot with faster 4G networks (will come with a SIM card slot).
We are expected to see a number of notebooks with the Qualcomm’s chipset in the near future. Probably, in the upcoming MWC, we can expect to see many OEMs unveiling newer notebooks on the event.
Considering all these specifications, and the previous Xiaomi pricing, the Notebook is expected to be priced anywhere near ₹30,000 price mark. This Mi Notebook will be for those, who are into taking notes, surfing the internet and watching videos. However, if the requirement is something related to the content creation or gaming, then going with a notebook with the Intel-based processor will make a lot of sense.
