Xiaomi is known for incorporating its Beta builds of MIUI with multiple new features that it wants to test out. The Chinese region usually receives these form of updates before any other country. The latest beta build for MIUI has just received new gestures support for the Xiaomi Mi 9. The company has dubbed this new feature “3D Air Gestures”.

According to Xiaomi official news, “MIUI Labs launched new features which makes the activation of certain features possible without touching the display. In the video demonstration, the camera can be activated by drawing an imaginary circle with the phone on the air. Similarly, Music can be activated by drawing the music symbol. These features come up by simply moving the hands while holding the phone. Currently, this feature has been launched online – MIUI developer beta. To see the video demonstrating the 3D smart gestures, click.”

A video of the feature can be found on this Xiaomi employee’s Weibo page:

MIUI seems to be quite busy with its systems in recent times. A few days earlier MIUI official summarized a lot of useful and playable features which are to be a part of its latest development version. These include ‘switching SIM cards in the notification bar, panoramic self-timer, Mi-Pay card code, and screen capture.’ As for Mi-Pay, in order to allow Mi Pay users to enjoy a more convenient payment method, the Mi Pay card code integration function has been updated in the latest development version.

Wake up the bank card>Verify the fingerprint>Click to expand the QR code, and the friends who need it can try it.

As of now, the Xiaomi did not say when the update for these features will be hitting the market.
