Good news for the Xiaomi Mi A1 users, the most loved smartphone of 2017 gets even better. In fact, the company has started seeding Android Oreo update via OTA package. Users are very excited about this update, which adds many interesting features like improved animations, picture in picture mode, and fast charging capability. Do note that, this is the only smartphone available in the market with Android Oreo OS (under the price tag of ₹20,000).

However, do note that few users are reporting that the charging time has been improved over the Nougat update using third party fast chargers (mostly the Dash Charger from OnePlus). So, the fast charging requires additional equipment to do so. So, in a nutshell, this is one of the best smartphones under the price tag of ₹13,999.

We appreciate the smartphone for the premium built quality with a USB type C port (which misses out on this budget). We are also excited about the 3.5 mm headphone jack with a dedicated DAC to improve the overall loudness and the clarity. The single mono speaker on the bottom right is one of the loudest that we have heard in this budget. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Octa-core processor with 4 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 64 GB onboard flash storage with a hybrid SIM card slot. The smartphone does offer dual SIM card slot with 4G LTE and VoLte capability on both the slots.

The rear-dual camera on the back is the main highlight of this smartphone. The implementation of the dual camera setup with a telephoto lens and a wide-angle lens is the one of the best dual camera implementation (period). Do note that the big dogs like Apple and Samsung do use the similar dual camera setup on the back. Everything works great in natural lighting condition, but the photos loss details when the darkness overtakes the light. This is expected at this budget and we are happy with the results obtained. Finally, the 3030 mAh Li-ion battery powers the smartphone with a complete day of juice on a single charge.

Like most of the smartphones, even the Xiaomi Mi A1 has a drawback that is the display. The display used on the Mi A1 is sharp and reproduces natural colours, but we are not happy about the 16:9 aspect ratio display with bezels as big as the Pizza Crust. So, if you are ok with the bezels, blindly go for the Xiaomi Mi A1. The smartphone gets additional discounts now and then and follow our blog for the upcoming offers on this device.
