Finally, the most anticipated day (D-Day) is here, where Xiaomi is all set to unveil their next iteration of Xiaomi Mi MIX AKA Mi MIX 2.

How to watch the launch event from India:

In a few hours from now on, the launch event will begin (11:30 AM IST), here is the official Facebook link and official MiUi event link for the launch.

Why Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is making a lot of sounds:

Last year, Xiaomi unveiled their first bezel-less smartphone, in fact, it was much better than the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, LG G5 and HTC 10. The almost bezel-less Mi MIX was a technology marvel both from inside as well as outside. It was like an Iron man’s smart gadget.

As the Mi MIX 2 is a successor of the same, the overall expectations have literally doubled. Here is the speculated specifications list of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi MIX 2.

First and foremost, the mobile will be featuring a 6.5 inch UHD IPS LCD grade screen with 2.5D curved glass on the top. Under the hood, the device will be powered by either Qualcomm Snapdragon 835/836 Octa-core SoC, paired with at least 6 GB RAM and 256 GB onboard storage with no SD card slot (typical Xiaomi flagship smartphone).

On to the camera, the mobile is expected to feature dual rear-camera setup with dual 12 MP cameras with features like dual OIS, X2 optical zoom and portrait mode. The device will offer more curves and rounded-off edges compared to the original Mi MIX.

Xiaomi Mi Note 3:

According to the recent leaks, Mi MIX 2 is not the only mobile that will be unveiled, the successor of Xiaomi Mi Note 2, the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 will also be unveiled in the event.

The device is expected to offer similar features compared to the Xiaomi Mi 6 with a bigger battery, screen and probably with a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The device is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Octa-core SoC, paired with 6 GB LPDDR4 RAM with 64 GB or 128 GB onboard storage. In terms of camera capabilities, the device will feature similar dual 12 MP camera setup with features like live bokeh effect, X2 optical zoom, and 4K video recording capability.

Both Mi MIX 2 and Xiaomi Mi Note 3 are expected to feature Android Oreo with MiUi V9 on the top. As of now, there is no information regarding the pricing or availability of the device. However, the device will not be made available in India, as the market for the high-end Chinese smartphone is very narrow.
