Xiaomi India is all set to launch their next iteration of the Android operating system, the MIUI version 9, which brings a lot of improvements over the already existing MIUI 8. However, not only the operating system, the company is also expected to unveil a new smartphone lineup in India (probably Xiaomi Mi Note 3).

The MIUI 9 will include features like new themes, multi-window, dual apps and an overall improved GPU and CPU performance for the already existing devices in India. So, that first set of smartphones that are entitled to receive the latest Android update are the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Xiaomi Mi MIX 2, and the Xiaomi Mi MAX 2. Later by the end of the year, the remain Xiaomi smartphones like Redmi Note 3, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi 4, and Redmi 4A are also expected to receive the same.

Coming to the product launch, the company is expected to launch the Xiaomi Mi Note 3, which is a tone upped version of Xiaomi Mi 6 with slightly underpowered specifications compared to the standard smartphones. So, here are the details regarding the same.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 3 will offer a premium all glass unibody design and looks exactly similar to that of the Xiaomi Mi 6 from all aspects. For the display, the device offers a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS LCD screen, protected by 2.5D curved tempered glass on the top. Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Octa-core SoC, paired with 4 GB or 6 GB LPDDR4 RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB onboard flash storage without any SD card slot.

In terms of connectivity, the device offers dual nano-SIM card slots with 4G LTE and VoLte capability on either of the slots. The cameras on the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 will be the exact cameras which are found on the Xiaomi Mi 6. The dual 12 MP cameras with X2 optical zoom and portrait mode will be offered out of the box with 4K video recording capability.

Unluckily, the device vomits out the 3.5 mm headphone jack in favour of the USB type C port. However, the device doesn’t offer wireless charging which might be a bummer. Finally, coming to the pricing, the device is expected to be priced at $400 (INR 20,000) for the entry-level model.
