We have been waiting for last few months for the upcoming premium mid-tier Android smartphone AKA the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 alias Xiaomi Redmi Note Y. It looks like Xioami has lot more things on cards to surprise us along with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. According to the recent photo found on Weibo, the company is also working on a pro version of Xiaomi Redmi 5 AKA Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus with the following tech specifications.

Looking at the history of Xiaomi nomenclature phenomenon, the company haven’t launched any plus named a smartphone, so, this might also be called as the Xioami Redmi 5 Prime and here are the details about the same. Front the first point of inspection one thing is clear that this device does has the most appreciable screen to body ratio, which is in line with premium flagship class smartphones. So, the company is likely to use the same 18:9 aspect ratio display, which has been seen in the recent flagship smartphones like Galaxy Note 8, iPhone X, and LG V30.

The next thing that strikes us directly is the rear dual-camera solution. The brand might stick with the dual camera setup from the Xiaomi Mi A1 or it might choose a cheaper dual camera setup with a monochrome sensor and a normal sensor to cut the cost of production.

The back case design is in-line with the current Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 with metal unibody construction with the top and bottom plastic notches for the signal processing (WiFi and cellular). The fingerprint scanner is also in the same place as of the Note 4.

Coming to the tech specifications, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus is likely to include a FHD+ 18:9 aspect ratio panel with 5.7-inch screen size with protection from Corning Gorilla Glass on the top. Under the hood, the device is likely to be powered by the mid-tier king and Xiaomi’s most favourite Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Octa-core SoC, paired with either 3 GB or 4 GB RAM with 32 GB or 64 GB onboard flash storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot.
