The new plan launched by Airtel offers 1 GB data per day with unlimited local and national calling. Apart from this, it also includes 100 local and national SMS a day at ₹169 for 28 days.

This plan will be available across all circles. To recall, this is the same plan that Airtel had revised in January this year. When the plan was launched, it offered 500MB data per day for 28 days. But the company revised the plan later to offer 1GB data per day along with unlimited voice calls for 28 days. However, the plan did not offer any SMS benefits until now. The latest revision includes the SMS benefits also.

It will be available on Airtel’s official website, as well as, Paytm.

This plan is very similar to Vodafone’s plan that was launched last week.

Both Vodafone and Airtel offer similar benefits at ₹169. Vodafone offers unlimited calling, free roaming, 100SMS a day and 1GB data per day for 28 days.

Aitel’s plan competes with jio‘s ₹149 offer as well. Jio at ₹149 offers unlimited calling, 1.5GB high-speed 4G data daily, and 100SMS per day with a validity period of 28 days. The total data benefit here is 42GB. Based on the data benefit, Jio sounds like a better option than Airtel.

Airtel is also planning to launch cheap VoLTE phones in India. Reportedly, the company is in talks with several phone manufacturers over the development of these phones. The company expects that the move will enable its over 150 million 2G subscribers to migrate to its 4G network.
