Reliance Jio latest plan
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is now going to intervene in the data breach matter. DoT will seek details from the Reliance Jio for the same matter.
Telecom Secretary Aruna Sundararajan while replying to a query regarding the data breach said,  “They (Reliance Jio) have not informed us. We will be seeking details”. The Secretary added that the department will be seeking details on the entire issue from the company.
A few days ago, police arrested a person in connection with the breach after the newcomer filed a complaint alleging unlawful access to its systems. A website on Sunday claimed that Jio customer base was leaked online with details such as name, phone number as well as Aadhaar numbers of its users getting compromised.
The website magicapk, where details were leaked, has now been suspended. On that, the company said, “We have informed law enforcement agencies about the claims of the website and will follow through to ensure strict action is taken”.  At the same time, the newcomer has assured that data of the subscribers was safe and maintained with the highest security.
