Reliance Jio latest plan

On Friday at the Reliance AGM, Jio feature phone is likely to be the major center of attraction in the meeting. According to the reports, the company aims to sell around 20 crore units of the handset over the next two years. This may seem to be a lofty goal, but analyzing the newcomer’s reach in the market, it appears to be the easy task for the telecom company. The company is planning to sell 10 crore units in the first year of its launch and another 10 crore units in the following year.

Jio is launching the 4G VoLTE-enabled Jio feature phone which has been previously tipped at the cost of ₹500. But according to the source unveils data, the forthcoming 4G VoLTE Jio feature phone will cost ₹1,000-1,500, however there no as such announcement. The Jio empowered handsets will be manufactured by Intex.

As per earlier leaks, Jio feature phone is said to have a 2.4-inch color display, 512MB RAM, 4GB of internal storage, up to 128GB microSD card support, dual SIM functionality (Nano SIM + Standard SIM), 2-megapixel rear camera, and VGA front camera with 2000 mAh battery. Interestingly, it may have an option to connect the handset to a TV using a cable. With this functionality, users will be able to watch content on apps such as JioTV and JioCinema on their TV.

The Jio feature phone will reportedly come with free calls on the Jio network, due to which people may show interest in buying. Apart, Jio is also said to be launching more affordable recharge packs around ₹80-90  to keep tariff costs low for users who upgrade from 2G feature phones to its 4G model.
