Baba Ramdev Patanjali

Yoga Guru Ramdev, who was once a staunch supporter of Bhartiya Janta Party(BJP) told the media on Tuesday that it would be difficult to say who will be the next Prime Minister. Just a few months ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha Polls, Ramdev said that the current political situation is very difficult. He also added that the battle to be the next leader is going to be terrific.

He addressed the media at Madurai where he arrived to attend the national executive meeting of Bharat Swabhiman.

It might come as a crushing blow to the ruling BJP that Ramdev, whose support proved to be crucial for the party has declared that he would not support any person or oppose any party in the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

While claiming that he is not focusing on politics, he added that he doesn’t have a political or religious agenda. He also said that instead of a Hindu country, he wants a spiritual country and a spiritual world. He added that through Yoga and Vedic practices, efforts are being made to make India a divine, prosperous and spiritual country.

Ramdev, who was closely associated with BJP also supported the party in the national campaigning for elections in 2014. Also, in 2015, he was named Haryana’s brand ambassador by the party and was also granted a cabinet minister rank. But in a surprising turn of event, Ramdev said that he has withdrawn himself politically. Distancing himself from politics, he said that he is “with all parties” and “with no party”.
