The government has launched UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagrik) scheme to ensure that every citizen of India can fly. In regards to this scheme, SpiceJet has recently announced the launch of two flights from 10 July 2017.

SpiceJet Chairman, Ajay Sharma said “I am delighted that SpiceJet is helping realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ensuring that every Indian can fly. UDAN is a grand scheme and we are proud to be amongst the pacesetters for the scheme”. He also added “UDAN is a grand scheme and we are proud to be amongst the pacesetters for the scheme. It has been our constant endeavor to enable the common man to fly since we began operations 12 years back. We will connect many more small towns and cities in times to come”.

The company has announced two direct flights to Porbandar and Kandla from next month. The new routes will be Mumbai-Porbandar-Mumbai and Mumbai-Kandla-Mumbai.  The RCS seat rate for Mumbai-Porbandar will be Rs. 2,250 where for Kandla-Mumbai route it would be Rs. 2,500 for RCS seats. SpiceJet is the first carrier airline to launch flights on these RCS routes.
