With the rapidly growing infrastructure, Jaipur is attracting way more businesses and tourists. App based Cab services, which were not existing two years back, in the city are now known to everyone. Meru, Ola, Uber, Taxi For sure etc. are the most popular names. Though they are new in the city but their marketing strategists made them famous overnight.
But growing competition brings in the real challenge. Jaipur, no matter how wide, but still its tiny for four cab service giants. Every other day the cab services introduce an attractive scheme or offer which takes you to their app and make you to use their services. As an example when Uber gives out 600 INR for reffering a friend, Ola kicks in and announce free rides. But surely someday all these ‘almost for free offers’ will go down and you have to pay real worth to ride with them. And when that time will come, you will actually look for the best. So instead of wasting for hard earned money we bring you a real and self tested review of the cab services in Jaipur.
Here are a few points which we tested.
Ease of use.
Well we were actually having no single winner here. We give both Ola and Uber same stand as both are very easy to book and understand. Meru whereas has one touch booking feature which actually feel irritating when you have to check fare rates etc. And sometime even you can accidentally hit the button and get cab booked.
Ease of Payment.
We put Uber on top when we think of a tech friendly person. Uber does accept cash and online payments. Integration of paytm wallet makes it hassle free. You never need to care for change or any other heck. Ola and Meru also have cashless drive options but since they also have option for cash sometimes it happens the due to server problems they stop their prepaid wallet service and you have to forcefully pay in cash despite for having money in their wallets. Ola cab drivers also behave in disgusting way when they find that you will use prepaid wallet for payment. Sometimes they will even refuse to ride saying that they don’t have diesel or petrol and can’t ride until you pay some cash.
Relaiblity
In this section, Uber tops the list with Meru following them closely. You rest assured that a confirmed Booking of Uber will reach to your given location every-time. Meru also acts promising but their limited cabs and cab type keep them on second number. Ola can hardly be trusted until you call their driver and confirm that he is in mood of coming. Ola drivers even sometime say that they haven’t received pickup details and run away from your location.
Fares
For any matter, Money is the final check. Surprisingly Uber, despite of all such pros, is the cheapest way to roam in the city. Yes Both Uber X and Uber Go are very light to the pocket. Apart from that, Uber is having a world class promotion system and you can get huge discount in most of your rides. They keep informing via Email, SMS and Social spots about the offers.
