Congress after celebrating the victory of winning all the seats in Mandsaur in the local body polls held on 11 Aug is now fully energised and ready with a comeback plan in Madhya Pradesh.

The local bodies went to poll in Madya Pradesh on 11 Aug and the results may be an alarm for the Shivraj Singh Chouhan led BJP in the state. After nailing BJP in Mandsaur Congress has now adopted the measure of pulling down the government by talking about its failures. Gearing up for the assembly polls due in the state next year both the parties are taking all possible measures to ensure victory.

Congress on Wednesday alleged that the central leadership is safeguarding the Madhya Pradesh government led by Shivraj Singh Chauhan. During a press conference held on Wednesday MP Congress chief Arun Yadav puts up the question that why Prime Minister Narendra Modi is silent about the string of scams and corruption going under the current government in Madhya Pradesh. He said that he will raise a question to BJP party President Amit Shah who will be arriving for a three-day visit to MP on Thursday, asking the reason for the silence of central government over MP government. He said “There is a long list of scams that have taken place under the BJP government. I want to know from the BJP chief why his party is patronising the Chouhan government despite the prime minister’s commitment to not allow corruption,”

Arun Yadav further giving information about the corrupt government said that the state Lokayukta had filed FIRs against 18 ministers in different graft cases but all the ministers came out clean in spite of having evidence against them. The Congress leader alleged a Rs 1,500-crore scam in the construction of toilets in the state under the Rashtriya Swachhta Mission. He also accused the government to be involved in a huge plantation scam, saying that BJP government had claimed that six crore saplings were planted along the banks of Narmada river during a 12-hour drive last month but the figures told a different story. Further attacking the BJP government in MP Yadav said that the government under a debt of over Rs 1.70 lakh crore, in spite of this the CM spent crores of rupees on his branding during the Narada Seva Yatra.

The Congress leader Yadav also alleged a Rs 750-crore scam in onion purchase, saying 17,840 quintals of the commodity had “vanished” from government godowns.

In his final statement during the press conference, Arun Yadav said that “I am going to write a letter to the BJP chief mentioning all these scams. Besides corruption, the law and order situation in the state is deteriorating. Shah should clarify as to why he and the PM are silent on these issues.”
