If Exit Polls to be believed, the 40 seat assembly of Mizoram is inching towards a hung assembly or a slim advantage to Mizoram National Front (MNF). Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla-led Congress government in the state is fighting strong anti-incumbency.

According to the Exit Poll conducted by Cvoter, Mizoram National front is emerging as the largest party and is expected to secure 16-20 seats, with the incumbent Congress 14-18 seats and others including is expected to bag 3-10 seats out of 40.

Another Exit Poll conducted by India Today-Axis also predicts MNF on lead with 16 to 22 seats while the Congress has an edge on 8 to 12 seats in the state. Others including ZPM may get 9 to 16 seats in the Mizoram State Polls.

While Times Now-CNX projected 18 seats for Mizoran Nationa Front, 16 for Indian National Congress and others are expected to get 6 in their kitty.

While all three exit polls are agreed on one thing that BJP like past is nowhere in the political picture of the state.

Polling in Mizoram was held on November 28 that registered around over 73 percent total voter turnout.

The 40 assembly state is currently ruled by Indian National Congress with 34 out of total seats while Mizo National Front has 5 seats. BJP who has never won a seat in the assembly field candidates on 39 seats. Bhartiya Janta Party‘s vote share in the state was less than one percent in the last assembly elections of 2013.

The results will be announced on December 11 along with other state assembly elections.
