Pyongyang, August 1: North Korea has again tested fired a new rocket programmme on Wednesday under the supervision of leader Kim Jong-un, state-run media reported on Thursday.

The state-run Korean Central News Agency has reported Kim “guided a test-fire of a newly developed large-calibre multiple launch guided rocket system on July 31”.

The reported, as cited by Yonhap news agency, added: “The test-fire scientifically confirmed that the tactical data and technical characteristics of the new-type large-calibre guided ordnance rocket reached the numerical values of its design and verified the combat effectiveness of the overall system.”

On Wednesday, South Korea asserted Pyongyang has launched two short-range missiles off its East Coast and following the matter, the South Korean national security council pressed for an emergency conference to discuss the latest tests, expressing their deep concerns, according to ANI news reports.

 North Korea launched multiple “unidentified projectiles” on Wednesday morning off its East Coast, as per the reports by the South Korean military. The missiles were fired from the South Hamgyong Province situated off the east coast of the nation.

The recent launches have come six days after North Korea has fired two short-range missiles into the sea. United States President Donald Trump has downplayed the incident, arguing the nation tested a “smaller missiles” – something that the various number of nations do.

The development has come some less than a month after North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and Trump has held a surprise meeting at the DPRK and further agreed to sit for another summit to work out denuclearization negotiations.
