Telangana Election Results Live : TRS enjoys an overwhelming victory ; KCR and the party members celebrate

K Chandrasekhar Rao

The Assembly elections in Telangana were held on 7 December 2018. The main contestants are the incumbent Telangana Rashtra Samithi, the Indian National Congress, Telangana Jana Samithi, and Telugu Desam Party.

The four major opposition parties in the state, the INC, the TJS, the TDP, and the CPI have announced a ‘Mahakootami’ (Grand Alliance), with an objective of defeating TRS in the elections. Nalamada Uttam Kumar Reddy is set to be the projected leader of ‘Mahakootami’. BJP’s leader for the election is K. Laxman who currently represents Musheerabad constituency.

Although the majority of exit polls predict a clean sweep for TRS, the state is yet to see who secures a victory.
