The United States has on Thursday offered around $1 million for any information related to the identification or whereabouts of Hamza Bin Laden, the son of Osama Bin Laden.

According to Al-Jazeera news reports, the US state department has pointed out that Hamza works as a “leader” within al-Qaeda, growing in prominence with the country’s designated “terror” group.

In a statement, the state department said that Hamza has released audio and video message threatening of attacks against the West as well as the revenge of his father’s 2011 killing by the American forces.

In a tweet,  Reward for Justice announced: “WANTED. Up to $1 million for information on Hamza bin Laden, an emerging al-Qa’ida leader. Hamza is the son of Osama bin Laden and has threatened attacks against the United States and allies. Relocation is possible. Submit a tip, get paid. http://www.rewardsforjustice.net  #RFJ”

Bin Laden claimed responsibility for the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on New York’s Twin Towers, as well as the attack that day on the Pentagon.

Those attacks were carried out using three passenger planes hijacked by al-Qaeda operatives. A fourth plane, bound for either the White House or the Capitol, crashed in a field in Pennsylvania after passengers attempted to retake it from the hijackers. Nearly 3,000 people were killed that day, including citizens of roughly 77 countries.

In January 2017, Hamza bin Laden was designated as a “global terrorist” by the US prohibiting US individuals from conducting transactions with him.
