US and India are in support of eachother

An official from the US president’s administration has on Thursday has said that the relationship between Washington and India flourished under Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, adding Donald Trump’s administration expects Modi make efforts to bolster ties after the general elections in India.

The senior official also said the last year’s first-ever face-to-face dialogues took the relationship further stronger.

According to NDTV news reports, while responding to a question on India’s foreign minister Vijay Gokhale’s visit to Washington DC, the senior official stated, “US-India relationship has really flourished … since Modi took power.”

The official said, “The highlight, I would say, was Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the White House in the June of 2017 where a lot of progress was made on the relationship. I would just say that the visit by Foreign Secretary Gokhale was just the latest illustration of the positive trajectory that the relationship is on.”

He further added, “We look forward to working with whoever is elected in this (general) election,” adding that there is “a lot of strategic logic” to the bilateral relationship.

He added saying the US expects the strong relationship to be strengthened and also that the country is looking forward to ways of cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.
