To oppose a United Nations migration pact, thousands of people marched on Sunday, in Brussels depriving a smaller demonstration in the support of the deal, which has brought down the Belgium’s government.

Around 90 protesters have been arrested after the anti-migration protesters has clashed down with police outside of EU institute in Brussels.

Authorities and police has fired teargas and has used water cannon over around 5,500 people marched against the UN migration pact, which was signed last week in Marrakech, Morocco, at the rally which was organized by Belgian right party Vlaams Belang.

The non-binding international agreement which aimed to manage globes’ migration crisis has devastated the politics of Belgium resulting in political divisive, which led ministers of Flemish nationalist party to quit the government in last week.

According to news reports, after protesters demonstrated firecrackers and projectiles, the authorities then broke up the demonstration.

A different counter-rally of at least 1,000 protesters and the anti-migrations demonstration took place in capital centre, which was organized by the left-wing groups and a non-governmental organizations, and had been initially banned by the Belgian authorities over the fears of unrest, but however, Brussels’ Supreme Court overturned the decision.

Charles Michel, Belgian prime minister, has been given permission in order to form a minority administration with following minister’s resignation from the Flemish alliance on the UN migration pact.

The UN migration pact has been agreed by all 193 UN members in July, except the United States (US), although only 164 of them formally signed the agreement on Monday, at the meeting.

Relating to the record of around 21.3 million refugees globally, the UN has begun to work on the migration pact after more than over one million people arrived in the nation Europe in 2015, after fleeing from Syria due to civil war and due to the poverty strike in Africa.
