Huawei chief executive officer (CFO) Meng Wanzhou on Tuesday, was granted bail by an apex court of Canada, after ten days of her detention in Vancouver, British Columbia, after alleged by the United States authorities for violating US sanctions.

In Vancouver, Justice William Ehrcke has, in a court hearing, granted $7.5 million (Canadian $10 million) bail to Wanzhou, who has been under the order of US, arrested on December 1 over Iran-linked transactions and violating US sanctions.

Court has imposed some conditions on Wanzhou, told her it is must to wear an ankle monitor and also to stay at her home from 11 PM to 6 AM. Wanzhou’s five friends pledged for equity in her homes and also other money in order to show a guarantee that she will not flee.

Now it is not Canadian justice whether decide to extradite Wanzhou to the US or not. If Wanzhou extradited to US, then she will have to face US charges for the conspiracy to violate US sanctions, defrauding multiple financial institutions, which will end her to be in jail for 30 years for each and every charges.

Arrest of Huawei CFO has distorted the relationship between China-US and China-Canada amid tensions raised. Tensions has been already high over the US accusations over Chinese spying and over ongoing trade war between China-US.

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday, said that against Wanzhou, he would arbitrate in the US justice department’s case filing, if it would likely to serve the national security interests or in order to help the trade deal between US-China.

US state department is likely to issue a travel warning over US citizens, whereas, Canada confirmed that one of Canadian citizen had been yet detained in China. The detained person was a former Canadian diplomat Michael Kovrig.

Canadian broadcasting corp has asked the Canada’s former ambassador to China Guy Saint-Jacques, whether the detention was coincidence and said, “In China there are no coincidences  … If they want to send you a message they will send you a message.”
