In a public statement, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that Canada had undertaken an “immediate independent investigation” to delve into the tremendous violence occurring on the Gaza border. Trudeau has highlighted that his government was “appalled” to find out that among the many Palestinians who were seriously injured during the US Embassy Protests on Monday, Tarek Loubani, a Canadian doctor was one of them.

Justin Trudeau announced that Canada remains extremely concerned regarding the March of Great Return, and the merciless killings occurring in the Gaza Strip, and the loss of countless lives have saddened them all the same. Besides doing the most to help out the injured people in the Border as allotted, Justin explained that they were doing their best to assist injured doctor Loubani and his family, to make sure a Canadian citizen did not come under harm in foreign territory in any manner.

Thomas Woodley, head of Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East Department, said that Loubani had been intentionally shot by the Israeli soldiers as he was nursing the injured Palestinians. He claimed that the target for the Israeli soldiers had been not been a random Palestinian, but Loubani specifically, and his leg had been deliberately aimed at by the soldiers. In response to this, PM Trudeau confirmed that he was looking into this matter seriously, and intended to have a direct discussion with Israel to find out why a Canadian citizen was harmed.
