Beijing, July 15: The Chinese government and state-owned firms will cut short its business ties with the American companies which are selling arms to Taiwan, Beijing’s foreign ministry said on Monday, refusing to provide further details of its actions that are likely to deepen tensions between already-poor ties with the United States.

China claims self-ruled and vote based Taiwan as its very own and has never denied the utilization of power to bring it under Beijing’s control. China consistently considers Taiwan the most touchy issue in its relations with the United States.

According to Reuters news reports, a week ago, the Pentagon said the U.S. State Department had affirmed the clearance of the weapons mentioned by Taiwan, including 108 General Dynamics Corp (GD.N) M1A2T Abrams tanks and 250 Stinger rockets, which are produced by Raytheon (RTN.N).

China said on Friday it would endorse U.S. organizations offering weapons to Taiwan yet did not intricate. The most recent arrangement includes $2.2 billion worth of tanks, rockets and related gear for Taiwan.

Geng Shuang, the spokesperson for the foreign ministry, said the arms sale were a breach of international treaty and has harmed China’s national security and sovereignty.

“China’s government and Chinese companies will not cooperate or have commercial contracts with these U.S. companies,” he told a daily news briefing.

“I can’t reveal the details at the moment. But believe this – Chinese people always stress standing by their word.”

On Sunday, the decision Communist Party’s official People’s Daily posted an article on its WeChat record recognizing U.S. organizations that could be defenseless against authorizations.

They included Honeywell International Inc (HON.N), which makes the motors for the Abrams tanks, and personal jets producer Gulfstream Aerospace, which is claimed by General Dynamics. China is a significant market for both Honeywell and Gulfstream
