China opposed the accusations put up by the United States and other allies over Chinese hackers with China’s foreign minister saying on Friday, that it opposed “slanderous” accusations by nations criticizing China for the economic espionage, and urged to Washington to withdraw its accusations.

The US charged two Chinese men accused of hacking computer systems of government agencies and companies in a dozens of countries, actions of a wide-reaching state-backed campaign of a cyber-espionage.

The US justice department said the US navy and NASA were among those who were allegedly targeted by Chinese hackers in a program, also included banks, healthcare providers and telecom companies in twelve companies.

According to news reports, Chinese ministry said the US should withdraw the charges against the two Chinese men, adding, China had never tried to participate in such events or supported any stealing of personal information and data of a commercial secrets, and lodged a “stern representations” with Washington.

Ministry said, “We urge the U.S. side to immediately correct its erroneous actions and cease its slanderous smears relating to internet security.” It further said it would now take necessary steps and measures to safeguard its self and own cyber-security and its interest.

The ministry said it has been very long an “open secret” that the US government agencies hacked into and also listened in on the foreign government, individuals and companies.

The ministry further said, “The U.S. side making unwarranted criticisms of China in the name of so-called ‘cyber stealing’ is blaming others while oneself is to be blamed, and is self-deception. China absolutely cannot accept this.”

Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said she noted the IBM’s statement that it holds no evidence that sensitive data has been comprised. She said, “Perhaps they think that if they repeat a lie 1,000 times it becomes the truth. But I want to tell them that it’s still a lie even if repeated 10,000 times.”
