Islamabad, May 28: China has on Tuesday agreed to offer a grant for the solarization of around 10,000 households in Balochistan, re-establishment of burnt five centres across Pakistan, provide scholarships to 20,000 Pakistani students, including two dozens of projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) cooperation.

According to The Nations news reports, Beijing has agreed to provide about one billion dollars to Pakistan for the CPEC socio-economic development project, as well as, both the nations have in the first phase cleared 27 projects to be funded by China.

The pact related to the CPEC was reached in April during Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan’s official visit to Beijing to attend the 2nd Belt and Road Initiatives (BRI) summit.

The shortlisted projects will be put into effect under the first phase of China-Pakistani programme, according to sources.

Technology training including promotional projects will be initiated under the Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) signed in agriculture sector Bacterial Grass (JunCao), the official sources told The Nations on Sunday.

China will establish Bacterial Grass technology training and promotional centres at separate suitable locations in Pakistan, under the project.

Moreover, the source said Beijing will also provide experts to Pakistan to conduct preliminary research of the project. China will offer agriculture and scientific training on foot and mouth diseases, vegetable processing, animal husbandry, fruit and cotton.

Four projects have been agreed in the education field which includes the supply of advanced teaching tools and equipment for secondary and primary school projects. The tools and equipment include printers, furniture, computers, tablet, multimedia, interactive whiteboards, and smart boards.

Seven projects have been shortlisted in the medical sector which includes the supply of tools and equipment to around 30 hospitals across Pakistan, the construction of a hospital at Gwadar, the establishment of the emergency centre in Balochistan, and cold chain and transportation equipment.
