China has on Friday, declined the United States media reports alleging that China was planning to hatch a secret plan in order to build its fighters jets with other military hardware in a region in Pakistan as a part of their $60 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

The CPEC project, which connect Xinjiang province of China with Pakistan’s Gwadar Port in Balochistan, is a most important project by the Chinese President Xi Jinping’s BRI (Belt and Road Initiative).

According to a news report by New York Times, it has said the Chinese officials and Pakistani Air Force One were trying to give the final touch to the deal.

The report stated: “Chinese officials have repeatedly said the Belt and Road is purely an economic project with peaceful intent. But with its plan for Pakistan, China is for the first time explicitly tying a Belt and Road proposal to its military ambitions – and confirming the concerns of a host of nations who suspect the infrastructure initiative is really about helping China project armed might.”

However, in a media briefing, when asked about the reports, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said, “According to our information the relevant report is not true.”

Chunying said the CPEC is much an important framework for the cooperation which is bearing a long-term interest in mind.

The close allies, Pakistan and China have built a single seater multi-role combat aircraft – the J-17 Thunder. Pakistan is seeking numbers of news advanced technology of Chinese jets with including the stealth fighter.
