increasing differences between US and North Korea

Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi has on Friday said, all the parties involved in seeking a solution to North Korean nuclear issue must need to develop a roadmap over the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula and take specific steps coordination with each other.

According to Sputnik news reports, while addressing a media conference, Wang said, “We find it necessary to develop a roadmap on denuclearization and create a mechanism of maintaining peace on the Korean Peninsula.”

The foreign minister added saying that base on this roadmap, parties of the denuclearization settlement process must work cooperatively and on specific steps, to be gradually implemented. The participants should exercise a join control on the reconciliation efforts, Wang said.

Wang also pointed out the importance of a recent meeting between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and the United States President Donald Trump in Hanoi, in Vietnam last month.

The minister noted: “Given the fact that the Korean issue exists for years, we cannot expect it to be settled in one day … Nobody should make unilateral unrealistic demands.”

Trump and Kim held their second summit in Vietnam last month, but however, Trump abruptly walked off from the talks, stating Kim demanded full sanctions lifting.
