Beijing said on Thursday, the trade negotiation between China and the United States are going meet in January with talks between both nation’s officials, but did not gave confirmed date and location.

According to news reports, both two countries were engaged in a conflict of trade war but the relationship has been thawed since the US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks during G20 summit in Buenos Aries in Argentina this year and agreed on a 90-day truce.

During a regular briefing, Chinese commerce ministry spokesperson Gao Feng said: “The Chinese and US economic and trade teams have always maintained close communication.”

Feng further said: “In January, in addition to maintaining intensive telephone consultations, the two sides have made specific arrangements for face-to-face consultations.”

According to reports by Bloomberg, on January 7, 2019, deputy US trade representative Jeffrey Gerrish would be leading the US team in talks between the US and China over trade negotiation talks.

While the US and China are working to ease their trade tensions, the meeting between these two nations would follow signs of progress and also absence of news US threats to China.

January 7th meeting would be first face-to-face meeting since G20 summit in Argentina.

Chinese commerce ministry said on Sunday, the US and China “made new progress” towards the issues on trade balance and intellectual property, during both sides official on phone call.
