Jeremy Corbyn No-Deal Brexit priority

The British opposition head Jeremy Corbyn has on Friday said that if his party gain power then he would renegotiate a Brexit deal, proposed by British Prime Minister Theresa May, with the European Union and could also support another referendum, as he comes under a pressure to let allow public another chance to stay in the EU.

The parliament has been deadlocked over Britain’s departure from the bloc after repeatedly rejecting the prime minister’s plan with throwing various outcomes, including one, leaving the bloc without any agreement or the second, holding another referendum.

According to Reuters news reports, when asked whether he would support a referendum on any agreement he negotiated, Corbyn told Sky News: “We’d consider putting that to the public.” And when asked to clarify if he was considering another referendum, Corbyn said: “That’s the point we’re discussing now in the party.”

This remarks from Corbyn has come after nine lawmakers from the Labour party quit citing Corbyn’s approach to anti-Semitism and Brexit.

John McDonnell, the second most powerful man in the Labour Party, said the party is “moving towards” a second referendum over Brexit deal. He said an amendment calling for a public vote which is being tabled for debate next week by lawmakers “could be a solution”.

He told the Evening Standards: “If we were going on a People’s Vote based on a deal that has gone through parliament in some form, if that got voted down then you’d have status quo, and that would remain. I’d campaign for remain and I’d vote for remain.”
