To accelerate its forces, Japan will buy US-made advanced stealth fighters, a long-range missiles and other equipment over for the next five years in order to support the United States forces which was facing military of China in the Western Pacific.

Japanese plans are very clear that the Japan’s ambition is to become a regional power as the military build-up by the Chinese and Russian puts on pressure on its ally US.

A 10-year defence program approved by the Chinese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s government said, “The United States remains the world’s most powerful nation, but national rivalries are surfacing and we recognize the importance of the strategic competition with both China and Russia as they challenge the regional order.”

According to news reports, the US, followed by North Korea, Russia and China, are most of those countries which has influenced the latest military thinking of Japan.

China, being the world’s second largest economy, has deployed more aircrafts and ships into patrol waters near Japan and North Korea is yet to dismantle its missile and nuclear programs.

China’s foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said that Japan was “singing the same old tune” and also making “thoughtless remarks” over China’s ground level (normal) defence activities.

According to news reports, Hua said, “What Japan is doing here is neither conducive to improving and developing China-Japan relations, nor to the broader picture of regional peace and stability,” further adding, “China expresses strong dissatisfaction and opposition at this and has already lodged stern representations with Japan.”

Japan is planning to buy a 45 Lockhead Martin corp (LMT.N) F-35 stealth fighters which is worth of amount about $4 billion, with in addition to a 42 jets already has been ordered, according to five-year procurement plan which was approved on Tuesday.

The new planes will include a 18 short take offs and a vertical landing (STOVL) B variants of the F-35 that the planners wanted to deploy over the Japanese islands along with the edge of the east china sea.

In an official statement, Lockhead Martin said, “Japan’s decision to acquire more F-35s is a testament to the aircraft’s transformational capability and its increasing role in promoting regional stability and enhancing the US-Japan security alliance.” The Izumo-class ships, 248 metres long, is as big as any of the Japanese aircrafts carriers in the World War II.
