Donald Trump

In a move, which seemed evident, Donald Trump has sacked white house chief of staff Reince Priebus. Retired General John Kelly has been given the responsibility to head the staff at the white house.

The move came just a day after Trump’s new director of communications, Anthony Scaramucci had accused Reince Priebus of leaking the information to reporters. Donald Trump announced the termination of his former chief of staff via a tweet.

John Kelly is a retired Marine Corps General. Prior to his appointment in White House, he was the secretary at the department of homeland security. According to a white house official, John Kelly has been appointed in order to bring more discipline in the white house. According to the same official quoted above, under Priebus, a majority of legislative orders failed to get approved by the US congress and that had made Trump lose confidence in him.

According to the reports, Reince Priebus was informed of the decision well in advance. Donald Trump had held a series of talks with John Kelly before offering him the position and Kelly accepted the same wholeheartedly. John Kelly will begin his tenure on Monday.
