New Delhi, July 5: Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Michael Holness has on Thursday held a telephonic conversation with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and congratulated him for his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), NDA government’s Lok Sabha election 2019 victory.

According to ANI news reports, while thanking Holness for making a congratulatory phone call to him, Modi stressed India recognized high prioritized relations with Jamaica and the Caribbean region.

In an official statement, the ministry of external affairs (MEA) said the Indian prime minister has pointed out the decision of New Delhi took last year to become one of the international partners of the CARICOM Development fund was guided by India’s strong wish for deeper strategic economic development with the nation and Caribbean region.

The Jamaican prime minister has welcomed India’s aim and focus over relations with its ally the Caribbean and Jamaica, and further he reiterated his strong wish to work and collaborate with Modi to further bolster their ties.

Holness also expressed his strong wish to further strengthening their cooperation in various sectors of their mutual interest, including one of the global challenges posed by the Climate Change.
