The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has rejected almost five pleas which were made by Pakistan during the hearing of the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav, also including playing so-called “confessional statement” of the Indian national and requesting to adjourn the court hearing of Jadhav’s case citing illness of its ad-hoc judge.

According to ANI news reports, the four-day hearing in the case of Jadhav has kicked off on February 18 at the ICJ headquarters in The Hague.

A team of Pakistan delegation has, on Tuesday, which was led by attorney general Anwar Mansoor Khan has requested the ICJ to adjourn the hearing of the Jadhav’s case in order to appoint a new ad-hoc judge as Tassaduq Hussain Jillani, judge, was suffering from cardiac arrest before the start of the hearing.

However, the International court president Abdullahi Ahmed Yusuf has rejected the plea made by Pakistani delegation while also ordering to the delegation to go ahead with the procedure if it is ready with its arguments.

Khan went on to proceed with his argument in the court, a day after the India side has told the world court that convicted Jadhav had been sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court during an “opaque” hearing and also that he should be freed forthwith. During his representation, the Pakistani advocate stated the Indian side claimed to relief must get dismissed.

JP Singh, who has accompanied the family of Jadhav in Islamabad to meet him in the prison last year, said the condition of Jadhav did not appear well.

During the hearing proceeding, Islamabad, while making a long shot in the court, also wanted the “accomplices” of Jadhav for witnesses. However, the International Court of Justice also rejected this plea of Pakistan.

Kulbhushan Jadhav, 48-year-old former naval officer, was arrested and sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court over the charges of espionage and terrorism on27 April 2017, following which the Indian side moved to the ICJ, further challenging the verdict.
