Imran Khan UNGA speech

New York, Sep 28: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday used his historic speech to warn India of consequences in terms of “bloodbath” nuclear-war over the Kashmir issue, during his international address to the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) summit in New york.

According to his maiden speech, Khan called on the United Nations to lift the pertaining lockdown in Jammu and Kashmir. Khan said, “When a nuclear-armed country fights to the end, it will have consequences far beyond the borders. It will have consequences from the world.”

He added, “I am warning you. It’s not a threat but worries about where are we heading. If this goes wrong you hope for the best but prepare for the worst.”

He slammed the revocation of Article 370, saying Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done so claiming for the prosperity and development of the Kashmir people

Khan cautioned the pertaining situation in Kashmir could escalate, claiming Pakistan would be again blamed by India. He said “what is going to happen when the curfew will be lifted in Jammu and Kashmir, that would be a ‘bloodbath’. There will be another Pulwama. The people and 9,000 troops will come out.”

Khan said: “What would happen when the curfew would lift the curfew, does he think the people of Kashmir will quietly accept the status which India has changed days before.”

He went on to say: “If a conventional war starts between the two countries anything could happen. A country seven times smaller than its neighbour what will it do, either surrender or fight for its freedom.”

He said the world has done nothing regarding this matter as “India is a huge market 1.2 billion people. Sadly, material prevails over the human, but this has serious consequences. That is why I am here”.

Khan said: “Pakistan doesn’t want to be blamed for the forthcoming consequences like the Pulwama terror attack. Both the nuclear-armed nations will come face to face in terms of war and destruction as we came in February.”

The Pakistan Prime Minister added before we both nations head towards that direction, it’s UN’s responsibility to stop that, saying, “This is why the UN came into being in 1945, supposed to stop this happening.”

Imran Khan also called on the UN investigators to Pakistan to verify no terror organizations are stationed in the nation or using its soil for terror activities.
