India and Austria have on Monday held a high-level delegation meeting over a wide variety of issues connected to bolster cooperation in investment and trade, consular, tourism and cultural issues.
According to ANI news reports, external affair minister Sushma Swaraj had participated in the dialogues along with her Austrian counter Karin Kneissl, who was on a three-day officials visit India, aimed at bolstering and enhancing both countries’ bilateral relations.
Karin’s visit to India comes over the occasion of the celebration ceremony of 70 years since the establishment of the diplomatic ties between India and Austria.
The ministry of external affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar, in a tweet, wrote: “70 years of diplomatic relations! EAM @SushmaSwaraj and Austrian Foreign Minister @Karin_Kneissl led delegation-level talks. Productive discussion on enhancing cooperation in trade & investment, culture, tourism & consular issues & exchange of views on global & regional issues.”

The Austrian foreign minister has arrived in New Delhi and then met with Sushma Swaraj at the Jawaharlal Nehru Bhawan.
Kumar continued twitting: “Willkommen FrauMinistern. EAM @SushmaSwaraj welcomes Austrian Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs @Karin_Kneissl on her visit to india. The Ministers lastr met in New York on UNGA margins in 2018. India and #Austri share a long history of warm and cordial relations.”

According to the MEA, Kneissl is scheduled to pay a visit to Gandhi Smriti on Tuesday and will further address a lecture over “The Future of Global Energy”. She will depart to Austria on Wednesday.
