Pakistan envoy to Afghanistan Zahid Nasrullah Khan has claimed on Tuesday that the escalation of the tensions between Pakistan and India could have a big impact and generate serious implications over the Afghan peace process.

According to Ani news reports, Zahid was quoted by Tolo news as saying: “Since the development is so momentous that it can affect the stability of the entire region.”

This move has come in the wake of de-escalation of India-Pakistan relations after a suicide bombing attack – Pulwama terror attack – on Indian paramilitaries on India-occupied Kashmir led by Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist organization which claimed to the deaths of 44 CRPF personnel.

While noting Islamabad’s effort in the Afghan peace process, Zahid said: “Pakistan is making a very major effort, playing its key role which is being recognized internationally. But it is a shared responsibility. Everyone has a responsibility towards it and Pakistan has a limited role in that, but what limited role we have, we are playing that. We also have limited influence. So expect Pakistan deliver on each and every account. I think is not reasonable. Yes, we believe that it has to be intra-Afghan talks that it where all issues will be decided.”

While echoing Pak’s Prime Minister Imran Khan’s warning to New Delhi, Zahid said the nation is expected to strike back against India if there’s any military hostile by them. Zahid’s comment was received hours after Khan warned India that Islamabad will retaliate if any military actions launched by New Delhi.
