Islamabad, August 6: Indian high commissioner in Pakistan on Tuesday called on the federal authorities to tighten their security around premises, the sources told ANI news.

Various organizations have held protests near the Indian high commission today in Islamabad, criticizing the Indian government decision to scrapping Article 370, according to Pakistan media news reports.

Islamabad had called on Ajay Bisaria, the Indian high commissioner to Pakistan, on Monday over the bifurcation of Article 370.

Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and opposition party chief Shehbaz Sharif called for an urgent meeting, on Monday, of the Pakistan parliamentary leaders to hold discussion over the ongoing situation, terming India’s decision on scrapping Article 370 as “unacceptable”.

Sharif was quoted by Geo News as saying, “This is a matter of Pakistan’s national interest and the entire nation is united on this front.”

Sharif also claimed the move taken by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government was an “act of treason” against a resolution of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
