Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has on Tuesday confirmed the latest strike in Iran-aligned Syria carried out by Israeli forces, a day after the Syrian military claimed that an Israeli drone has fired missiles targeted them near an army observation post and a demolished hospital in the region.

According to news reported by Reuters, before flying to Poland for the Mideast summit, Israeli prime minister told reporters, “We are operating every day, including yesterday, against Iran. All the time. Against Iran and against its attempt to entrench itself in the area.”

Israel is trying to counter attack the influence which was carved out by Iran in Syria, which has supported Bashar al-Assad, the Syrian president, in a war that had erupted in 2011.

The Syrian army has said the Monday’s air strike which was carried out by Israeli forces in the southern Quneitra province has caused only the material damages.

Moreover, Israel has been much increasingly open about it carrying out several air strikes in Iran-aligned Syria with an election state looming going to be held in April.

Netanyahu has said Israel, in the recent weeks, has carried out about hundreds of air strikes in Syria since the past several years and that it would also ramp up its fight following the United States Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw its American troops from the country.
