the chaotic scenes from the capitol quite well presented that even propagator of democracy, America, is not immune to public displeasures and disruption in its smooth functioning of a basic democratic process like election. As it turns out, Joe Biden will be taking over a strong politically divided America battered with rampant spread of coronavirus.

As sources speak out “recent happenings at the capitol have stripped America of its democratic hypocrisy and it’s about time that they step down from their political high moral ground”.

Joe Biden as promised has actively shown his keen pleasure in dismantling Trumpism in America. Biden, 78, wasted no time in acting to scrap a series of measures brought in by his predecessor’s administration since 2016. As he sat in the oval office, ready to act, with one swipe of  pen, the President scrapped nine of his predecessor’s most high-profile policies.

First and foremost, Biden delivered on his promise of a more environmentally conscious approach by joining back the Paris peace accord, as promised. Coupled with it, his administration also halted the America’s departure from the World Health Organization.

President Joe Biden also reversed Trump’s harsh Muslim travel ban which exempted immigrants from Muslim majority nations. The president also pulled a plug on the funding of Trump’s ambitious, irrational Mexican border wall funding.

Biden was quick to deliver on his promise to contain the COVID-19 virus. This was done by initiating “100 days masking challenge”.  He asked US citizens to be vigilant and dedicated to the cause and wear masks for 100 continuous days. He also required people to maintain physical distancing and wear masks in federal buildings and on federal lands.

With trump’s constant nagging and bickering about WHO’s preferential treatment of China, only deteriorated the credibility of the mighty international organization. But Biden’s course of actions to halt the departure, with Dr Anthony Fauci leading the US delegation, Biden has restored America’s faith and credibility of WHO.

With his COVID-19 housing protection, he extended the existing nationwide suspension on evictions and foreclosures until March 31.

On the front of America’s Student Debt crisis, Biden can been seen acting efficiently. With a swipe of his pen, he Extended the existing pause on student loan payments and interest on student federal loans. This extended pause is expected to remain in place till September 30.

On climate change, in addition to joining the Paris Peace Accord, Biden also stopped the construction  of keystone XL oil pipeline which was set to pass through the Fort Peck Reservation in South Dakota. This project which was initiated by the trump administration, remained suspended even under the Obama administration, where Biden held position of the vice president.

Recently, Biden launched $700 million Buy American Campaign, which will encourage the American government to buy more of the American made products. This step by the Biden administration is set to help American business to compete in strategic industries and help the working population of America thrive. This further will help the US economy as its unemployment rate stood at 6.7% in December.

Last week, Biden also laid his agenda to increase the minimum wage to $15 dollars and to restore collective bargain power and provide protection to federal workers.

On the immigration reforms, with the eradication of the Muslim travel ban, he also reinstated the Deferred Action for Children Arrival (DACA) Program which shields the undocumented immigrants who arrived as children in the US. This programmed was reversed by the trump administration in 2017. According to McConnell this is “a massive proposal for blanket amnesty that would gut enforcement of American laws while creating new incentive for people to rush here illegally at the same time”.

On racial grounds, Biden tackled the issue of housing discrimination by issuing executive orders directing his administration to strangely and cautiously address racial bias in housing programs and to terminate the government’s use of private prisons.

Biden has also got the LGBTQ community covered. He recently reversed Trump’s transgender ban in the military. He stated that all Americans, irrespective of their gender are welcome to join the army.

With his affirmations like ‘There’s no time to start like today’, ‘I’m going to start by keeping the promises I made to the American people’, he sure inspires confidence in the American masses. But his quick action on certain aspects of his policies can prove fatal. Now, what is to happen in the future, is something we’ll have to wait and watch.
