Kenneth Juster will be the next US Ambassador to India. The announcement was made by White House on Friday. According to the announcement, President Donald Trump will nominate Juster shortly for the post in the coming days. Kenneth Juster will be the first ambassador to India under Trump administration. The post of US Ambassador to India has been lying vacant since January 20th, the day when Trump was sworn in as 45th President of US.

Juster has held a number of key positions in the government since a long time. Until June, he was Trump’s deputy assistant for international economic affairs along with being the deputy director of National Economic Council. In the regime of former president George W Bush, he was under secretary of commerce.

Juster has held key positions in the US administration for over 35 years now. His portfolios have included sectors ranging from international affairs to business and law. Some more of responsibilities, which he has held throughout his career include being Chairman of the Advisory Committee of Harvard’s Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, the Chairman of Freedom House, the Vice Chairman of the Asia Foundation, and a member of the Trilateral Commission.

According to sources close the development, Juster has been actively involved in affairs related to India and played a key role in initiating bilateral talks under the new president. He knows India well and White House feels that he will be a great addition to US operations in India.
