In a conference with reporters on the 29th of May, Dmitry Peskov, spoke on behalf of the Kremlin when he ridiculed American Special Counsel Robert Müller’s investigation as to being a very pointless affair which he expected to wind up very soon. Müller’s investigation has been focused extremely upon Russia since May 2017, and continues to probe the country for allegedly interfering with the 2016 US Presidential Elections, and having ties with Donald Trump’s Republican party.

Dmitry has continued to deny all the aforementioned allegations, and ridiculed the American assumptions of Russia having any hand in helping Donald Trump acquire his position as the President of the United States as an orchestrated anti-Russian campaign growing its roots in the US. During his speech on Tuesday, Peskov compared the process of Müller’s investigation to that of passing water through a sieve, which is a Russian proverb contemporary to that of the English saying of flogging a dead horse.

However, the Kremlin is not the only government to have shown dissatisfaction towards this investigation process. President Donald trump has himself called Robert’s investigation of his rise to presidency a ‘witch hunt’ initiated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which would never yield any productive results. In a recent tweet, the President even went as far as to update his official Twitter account with a post where he blamed Robert Müller, a well-known Republican, and his team, to be 13 ‘Angry Democrats’ who were ‘meddling’ with the previous, as well as the upcoming mid-term elections of the country.
